The Children's Ministry of Broadway Church of Christ

Welcome! We are glad you are here and interested in learning more about Broadway's Children Ministry.
At Broadway, we try to focus on what is most important: encouraging every child in growing a deep relationship and ever-increasing intimacy with God. We know that if we truly want our children to remain in the body of Christ into adulthood, we must nurture them in having a genuine, daily relationship with our Father.
Know God, Grow in Maturity, Go and Share the Good News.
As Children's Ministry Directors, our task is not only to make sure that children’s classes have good curriculum and prepared teachers in a safe environment, but also to encourage you as you train your children throughout the week. We pray we can bless your family with helpful suggestions for strengthening family study time, prayer life, Bible verse memorization, and conversations about God in your day-to-day life. We hope to assist and encourage you in the incredibly precious and important task God has given you of raising His little children.
We are blessed to be a part of your family's journey of faith...

Blessings,
Nan Camp and Amy Cary
Children's Ministry Directors

Promotion Sunday is August 29th

Children should go to their new classes, if promoting to a new department, at the start of class time on the 29th.

Summer Service Sunday class was on August 15th. In class, we learned how we can love our neighbors and help out with an extreme food shortage at the South Plains Food Bank
We invite all of Broadway to join the children in collecting food goods to be delivered to the Food Bank. They are in need of shelf stable food: Hamburger Helper, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, beans, rice, cereal and canned meats, fruits and vegetables, etc.
In class, children were encouraged to ask neighbors and friends (with adult supervision) to donate food goods as well to be picked up and brought to church.
As an incentive, the child who donates the most food items between now and Sept. 12 will get to throw a cream pie in Mrs. Camp's face at Construction Zone on Sept. 19!
We will be collecting food for the next month, and delivering the donations weekly to the Food Bank.  Please put your items in the white barrels near the entrances. Each barrel will have a tally chart to keep track of each child's donations. You may also donate online at http://www.spfb.org
Let's all pitch in to help those who are hungry in our community!

Please join us for…

Trunk or Treat

SUNDAY, Oct. 31, 6:30 -8:00 pm

Come enjoy Broadway’s safe and fun way to trick-or-treat! Trunk or Treat provides a family-friendly evening of trick-or-treating fun! Children trick-or-treat by going from car trunk to car trunk to get their bags filled with goodies.

Invite your friends and neighbors!  We are also inviting children in our Broadway neighborhood.

Want to bring your decorated car, and hand out candy or small prizes? Sign up today on the Kids on Broadway bulletin board (across from elevator) to have your parking spot reserved! Help is also needed to staff the bouncers and rock wall.

We are going to need lots of candy and small prizes, e.g., stickers, toys, and bubbles.  Collection barrels will be located in the main hallways in October for your donations.

Friendly, non-scary costumes are welcome! Kids of all ages will enjoy candy, treats, bounce castles, fellowship and fun!

"Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates." Deuteronomy 6:4-9

Memory Verse

Psalm 37:4-6

Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.

July Memory Verse

Matthew 16:24-25

Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it.

To encourage our scripture memorization to become perhaps even more successful this year, we have begun using the Seeds Family Worship Seeds of Purpose CD in our childrens' Bible classes, learning a new scripture each month.
If you'd like, you can listen to the CD here: http://www.seedsfamily

Click on LISTEN ONLINE and use the gray CD title drop box to choose the "Seeds of Purpose" play list.   The lyrics are God's own Word, straight from the NIV. It's a great way to sing and make a joyful noise unto the Lord, while planting His Word forever in our hearts and minds!
