Special Events

Baby Welcome and Blessing

is special time during worship service to celebrate with families who have been blessed with a new child.  Of all God’s blessings, few are as great a challenge while as great a joy as the gift of a child.  Raising a child requires patience, time, courage and wisdom. Thankfully, God in his wisdom gives us a community of faith to help encourage us in accomplishing the task of raising our children.  And so we celebrate these new lives together!

Christmas Celebration
is
a Sunday morning Christmas worship service when children are encouraged to participate as part of a chorus.   In the weeks leading up to Christmas Celebration, children who want to be involved practice special songs while some of our older boys prepare scriptures to be read.

Father & Daughter Banquet is an annual event, planned by parent volunteers, when dads and daughters enjoy an evening of dinner and entertainment together. The themes may vary each year, ranging from luaus to elegant limo rides, but the time spent together is always precious.

Father & Son Campout
is a great opportunity for dads and sons to get away for the weekend and spend time with Christian friends. Volunteer dads plan the trip.  The guys comes home smelly, but happy!

Fourth on Broadway Parade is an exciting way to spend the 4th of July!  Join Broadway families on our front lawn to watch the parade. Some years our Children's Ministry decorates a parade entry and children are invited to ride on the float.

Mother & Daughter Tea
is usually a Spring day, planned by volunteers, for mothers and their daughters to get dressed up and enjoy sweet fellowship with friends over brunch. The young ladies participate in a service project together.

Mother & Son Day
is an annual day out, planned by parent volunteers, for moms and sons to just get away together and do something fun!  Visiting Main Event or bowling are often at the top of the request list.

Music Camp is a week-long summer day camp for children 1st - 5th grade.  After tryouts for parts, children learn and practice a musical, with a performance for family and friends on the Friday evening of camp.

Trunk or Treat is Kids on Broadway's safe and fun way to trick-or-treat! This free event is an evening of outreach to our neighborhood. Kids of all ages enjoy candy, treats, bounce castles, fellowship & fun.  Children trick-or-treat by going from car trunk to car trunk to get their bags filled with goodies. Friendly, non-scary costumes are welcome!  It is a great opportunity to meet and encourage people from our neighborhood as well as a great time to meet and visit with many of our newer members with young children.

VBS week is an amazing time at Broadway! Our Lower Level is transformed for the week as children are guided on a journey digging deeper into God's truths. With the help of more than a hundred adult and teen volunteers, the week is always incredibly memorable for children and adults alike.
