Broadway is blessed by an incredible team of volunteers who love sharing God's Word with children! We are so thankful for the countless hours our volunteers spend teaching, planning, guiding, and praying for our children! "We never forget you when we pray to our God and Father. Below are some examples and descriptions of ways you can volunteer to help. Please contact us for more information! Volunteer Opportunities BIBLE CLASS VOLUNTEERS Teachers use their giftedness in teaching to share God's Word, often working with the Department Leader(s) in planning a class. Teachers are involved in greeting, pre-session time, Bible story time, applications, and getting children safely returned to parents at the end of class. Teacher Helpers provide assistance to the teacher. Substitute Teachers are familiar with the classes, and have worked within the program, often starting as a helper or a “retired” teacher. When the teacher is going to be absent, he/she will call on a substitute teacher. Substitute Helpers assist the lead teacher in the absence of his/her regular helper. Greeters provide a happy greeting for children and parents as they arrive for Bible classes. They ensure the system for parents to safely check-in their younger children works smoothly. Department Leaders invite teachers and assistants to volunteer in children's classes. D.L.s plan classes, help train teachers, make sure class materials are available, and maintain classroom spaces. They make sure teachers have what they need for class each week and help find a substitute, when needed, if a teacher will be absent. Our Department Leaders are incredibly talented and appreciated volunteers who are an essential part of our Bible class time. Construction Zone leaders coordinate our third Sunday class time for children 4 yrs - 5th grade. Construction Zone is a large gathering time when children worship together and share in activities including singing, puppets, drama, and games. More Volunteer Opportunities SUPPORT MINISTRY VOLUNTEERS We
have special events throughout the school year and summer. Volunteers
can be involved in a short-term or an ongoing commitment to work in these various support ministries. Some of these opportunities include working as part of: Prayer Partners lift up the ministry in prayer by praying for our children, Bible class volunteers, support team members, and special event volunteers. Resource Room Team Members
are vital in Children’s Ministry as this team provides
support for teachers by preparing materials for educational use.
This includes purchasing, organizing, creating, and distributing items which will enhance the lessons taught in Bible class.
Construction Team Members
create and build props (e.g. stages, shops, sets,
etc.) for Kids on Broadway special events, dramas, and activities. Decor Team Members help make sure our building is welcoming and child-friendly! Volunteers make sure bulletin boards stay updated, decorate for special events like VBS, and maintaining hallway spaces. Technical Team Members provide audio/visual and lighting support for praise and worship times, dramas, puppets, and special events. Costume Team Members
assist in making costumes and anything fabric/sewing
related for special events, dramas, and activities.
Puppet Ministry Team Members use puppetry to demonstrate Bible truths for children of many ages. |
